I’m not a mental health professional. I’m a mum who writes about my experience of living with a mood disorder and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, I started diarising my experience in May 2020. In opening up my life to a group of strangers, I’ve found empathy, camaraderie - and healing. I’m still in the early days so there could be a disastrous coda to this story, but for the moment, I see this as an experiment showing the power of vulnerability in building shame resilience and healing trauma.
